Samantha has been working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor for over 10 years in Vancouver.

After graduating from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2007, Samantha went on to complete a Master’s of Education degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling in 2011. During her Master’s degree, she was awarded a scholarship for highest academic achievement and most promising clinical skills. Today, Samantha is a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada and a Registered Rehabilitation Professional.

In her 10 years of work as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, Samantha has worked with clients with a wide variety of injuries and disabilities including: brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopaedic injuries, neurological conditions, soft tissue injuries as well as mental health conditions. The majority of her work has focused on providing opinions relating to vocational rehabilitation for medical legal cases including, but not limited to, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, aviation accidents and medical malpractice. Additionally, Samantha is able to provide vocational rehabilitation assistance for family law and divorce cases.
Samantha has been accepted as an Expert Witness in the Supreme Court of BC and has testified on numerous occasions, earning her a well regarded position in her field. She is regularly retained for medical legal assessments by both Plaintiff and Defense lawyers. In addition to vocational rehabilitation assessments, Samantha is able to assist in medical legal cases with document reviews, rebuttal reports, transferable skills analysis, trial preparation and labour market research.

Besides her work in the medical legal field, Samantha also provides vocational assessments and counselling for rehabilitation and assistance in return to work. This can involve completion of vocational tests to determine aptitudes, academic abilities and interests, and can also involve counselling to determine an appropriate vocational goal as well as assistance with job search skills and resume writing.

Samantha also provides career counselling for members of the general public with the goal of helping them to identify a career goal that is in keeping with their skills, abilities and interests. This can involve vocational testing, career counselling and assistance with developing strong job search skills.

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters. She loves to travel (especially to Hawaii), read and stand-up paddleboard.
